Well, finally made it to IAH today for the Airliners 2002, it was great by the way! Way hot in IAH though, 90 today and 80% humidity...yuck.
I just have to give Continental some props here for a sec, so just bare with me.
This isn't a trip report, but I'll say that this is the first time in a long time I have had a very, very enjoyable flight on another carrier - to the point where I didn't want to get off the plane! Not only was the service and flight attendants incredibly friendly and professional, but the food was great! We had a full breakfast and dinner coming home. The pilot couldn't thank the passengers enough for flying Continental, and to come back soon and fly again. They also had a movie on both flights (SJC-IAH & IAH-LAX), planes were spotless...incredible! Looking forward to flying with them again soon.

I flew in January. The inflight service was good (meals sucked). But what ruined my trip and made me vow nevr to fly them again was their Ground Crew at KLGA. hey ruined my trip with their rudeness.

Yeah, I'm flying Continental next month MSP-EWR, EWR-MSP on a 737. Each way is about 3 hours.

Great planes, actually serve meals, drop down video screens, winged headrests, flights that left late for no explained reason and arrived sort of ontime, and my first 737-900 ride almost made up for the blantant lack of customer service I received on my recent trip to FLL.
Asking questions to 2 different customer service agents with blank glares as the only reply, and the other was when I was about the ask the EWR agent for a different seat when he barked "you have a boarding pass, what more do you want....NEXT" and that was that.
Smiles- (I wandered entire concourse at EWR and saw 2 gate agents smiling during the course of my 3 hours there and it was a clear day with no weather problems).
Simple "yes" or "no" to a customer's question go a long way.
Now I would not dare base my entire opinion of Continental on 3 rude experiences with the only 3 Continental agents I came in contact with, and I will fly them again I am sure (mostly just to earn NW worldperks miles).

I have heard great things from FF and business assoicates about CO. They seemed to have improved greatly.
One biz associate had a very rude FA on a trip to FCO recently, he wrote to Cusotmer Service and received a very quick reply, not a form letter, addressing his concern (unlike UA which can take months to get a reply if ever, and it is a form letter telling how "valuable" we are). Their quick and accurate response impressed us greatly.
I only wish they had more flights from my city and would take my status and miles from UA!?!?!

Continental is a reliable, consistent, carrier with an above average product and a greater emphasis on customer care than some of its competitors. I fly them as much as possible and find their Newark hub to be efficient, pleasing to travel through compared to the New York Area's other airports (LGA and JFK) and the schedules convenient.
On long-haul flights, I think they are among the best of the US carriers if not the best, in terms of service, aircraft, amenities, and comfort.
