Lauda Air Window Arrangement

When looking at Lauda air planes, all their planes seem to have a continuos window lining, there are no gaps in the windows. So where are the lavs located in the centre cabins, aren't there any side-wall mounted lavs or galleys?

Lauda Air have a clear tradition to paint in windows on the body where they "should have been". Arsenal@LHR, if look at the second photo (B767-3Z9/ER) you've linked to, the windows from left to right number 1, 11, 12, 14, 21, 23, 26, and 27 are fake windows. Also if you examine the B777-2Z9/ER photo, you'll also find window number 1, 14, 16, 17, 25, ...... as fakes. The same fake windows appear on all the B737NG to Lauda Air.

If they are blocked out, why are they there in the first place? wouldn't it be easier if boeing just didn't put windows there?

Different airlines have different requirements on how to compartmentalize the aircraft - small or large business class, first class or no first class, where to place toilets, storages and galleys ...
Since it's a serial production of aircrafts, outer body panels will be identical for all aircrafts of that type - the only difference is that they block off window positions by inserting an aluminium "sheet" in stead of the glass/plastic windows in the cut outs.
Most airlines will paint this "windows" in the body colour, but Lauda select to create an illusion of an unbroken line of windows for design purposes. Even where no cut outs are done, like this picture of the B737-6Z9 shows

Look out for the "window" under the L in Lauda - it don't exist any window at that position on any 737NG, the space is allocated for the air-ducts to and from the AC-pack.

I see what u mean, i always thought the lavs might be located in the centre of the aisle instead of wall mounted cos the windows had no gaps in them.

But i get the idea.

You don't need to either place the lavs in the centre or block the windows. Do it like Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have done it - lavs with a view:

It's not only the A340-313Xs that have these windows, both the Euro-version of B737-683s and the A321-231s have the same arrangement. Besides, there is no danger for people peeking in through the windows  Yeah sure

Lavs with windows is a great concept like SAS have, imagine looking out of the window at 38,000 feet while..................you know? Big grin

Air India was the first to create "windows".
Check out the extra "Taj Mahals" in zone C on a 747!

Thanks for reminding ETA, Air India's 744's also have a window arrangement with no gaps like Lauda.
