Cathay Pacific Cargo will be expanding to Milan with the first flight on 4 August 2002. The flight will stop at Delhi and London. Then it will return to Hong Kong non-stop from Milan. It will be operated by the B747-400Fs.

Good news for CX! This will be their first venture into the Italian air cargo market. A few months ago I read in the SCMP that they're considering starting a passenger service to Milan, as there's quite a lot of business traffic between the two cities, especially in the garment import/export business. Hopefully something comes out of this but I don't see there being enough demand on HKG-MXP to be profitable for CX.
