Can anyone tell me where the best place(s) are to spot at the Hartsfield Airport (ATL)?????

Is there anywhere open to the public with a close view of a runway?

Are the parking garages any good or will they force you to move?

Any help or info would be appreciated a.s.a.p.

If they're landing out of the east try pulling on the side of Loop road, which pretty much circles the airport. thats about the best i can think off outside the fence.

They have closed down the area off loop road. If you go to the top of south terminal parking lot on the south side you will have a great view of 9L & 9R. The down side of this spot is that you are north of the runway, so you'll get shadows. My new spot is a gravel area on Clark Howell Hwy, just 100 feet south of I-285. Very nice views of 27R and approaching traffic on 27L.

I tried the top of the south Garage. Traffic was departing 27. Great Views, though I did not photograph any. Arrivals on the parallel south runway taxied to the end and went around the taxiway closest to the garage. The planes were pretty close at that point and would have made some good pix.....especially the biggies like all those L-1011s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
