Does anyone know what equipment they operate on this route? If it is the 767, what is the seating configuration and seat pitch? How is entertainment on both the 767 and 737? Do they rate better or worse than say Air 2000?
I have a friend flying this on friday and she is devastated its not British Airways!

290Y in 2+4+2 with 28" pitch

Their B737/800:

Hi there,

Yes Excel normally use the 737-800 on this route with 189y config.
Its normally allways full so if you wanna try and get decent seats or at least seats together check in early or maybe ring there pre-fly dept to see if they can do something.
The entertainment normally consists of a main movie followed by a series of short programmes.I think the short prog have changed this summer and im not totally sure what they have.
Normally have a comedy, sitcom and a music video (abbamania and an audience with the bee gees last year).
Headsets were priced at £3.00 and yours to keep but if you have your own...the crew dont mind you using them.
Food is very tasty and of good quality, staff are friendly and helpfull and good choice from the bar.
For the way back i suggest that you bring your own blanket or something.
They carry about 20 blankets andthe pax are like vultures...everyone wants them. There nice and warm and fleecy.

Hope they have a good trip and hope the above helps you out.

Many thx

Thats quite a long route for a 738 isnt it?
Does anyone fly from MAN to Hurghada? I have a feeling Monarch might do, but I am not sure.

When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army Boys, we'll be coming down the road!

Its a long day for the crew...but the 737-800 can do a LGW-BJL-LGW without a tech stop.
flt time to Hurghada is about 4.45 depending on the weather.
In the brochure it may say that its 5 1/2 hrs.hence why excel are on time or early...they have so much leeway.

Many thx
