I have seen pictures of the new Economy Class and it looks stunning, but I am wondering which routes it is already on. Is LAX-HKG equiped with the new Y-class?

LAX is usually operated by one of the following.

HOO,HOR,HUD or HUG.

These a/c have larger capacity business class and fewer economy.

Fyi none of them have had the new Economy fitted yet.

Occasionally thou some of the new economy a/c visit LAX

Look for HOS,HOV,HUF,HUI,and HOY

KHI747- I think he was comparing it to other 744s in the fleet. I think there are more economy class than business class seats any CX aircraft.

If you look there there is a picture of the new Economy class on a 744. So when will the entire long-haul 744 fleet be fitted?

What about B-HOZ? I flew that aircraft from LAX-HKG and HKG-LAX.

B-HOZ is a 74B. Cathay website reports 15 out of 19 747-400s have been fitted with the new Economy class.

FYI, all 19 Boeing 747-400s EXCEPT B-HOO, B-HOR, B-HUD and B-HUG have been fitted with new EY seats. The four aircraft mentioned above will be upgraded very soon.

Does the new Economy class feature seats with greater pitch than before? If so, then what's the new pitch in inches? Thanks.

What was the original economy like, what is the new one like, and what are the differences? Thank you!

Here is a brief description of the old Economy Class. I'm curious to hear experiences on the Economy Class myself.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

I believe seat pitch is the same (32 inches). The main difference is a newer seat style and different colours. Pictures are available on the Cathay Pacific website cathaypacific.com, and there are also two trip reports on A.net that has detailed pics (long time to download though)!

B-HUD goes to Xiamen today, presumably to have the new economy fitted in addition to maintenance checks.
