This week's Flight International report that the Sharjah based airline Pluto Air (operates one each of A310, A320 & Tu154) is in talks with a Pakistani airline about commencing a ISB-SHJ-MAN service from August. I wonder if their prices will be astronomical .
Anyone know which Pakistani airline could be involved? Would this hasten the launch of Qatar Airlines flights here?

I thought that Pluto Air never got of the ground. And thier business plan said that they will have 737's with the first flight being to Oman (visa runs) and followed by Senegal. I guess they had a change of plan.
I think the Pakistani airline would be Aero Asia as they have been looking to expand into Europe for a long time. Just recently they have leased additional 737's also to upgrade thier Gulf routes.

I don't think Qatar Airways will be put off by this. Qatar Airways is more established and has better connections. This August they will lease an additional A300 to start new routes. I think that MAN could be one of them though it might be an Asian route instead.

Pluto Air are reported to be launching operations on the 15th July. Their schedule is somewhat limited as it appears to be SHJ-BAH 3 times a week and DOH-BEY twice weekly. The report also mentions flying to/from MCT, though with no destinations named.
I'll look forward to QR coming here whenever they can!
