Trying To Find A Cheap Flight From LGW - PHL

.... On the 23rd of October, I'm travelling back to the USA with a friend who is on the Delta flight out of LGW in the morning ( 11:10 am ) - however, the cheapest price I have been able to find for that one is £380 which does not impress me ....

US Airways are offering a return for £300 ... however, I'd rather not have the hassle of making connections and losing my friend somewhere along the way ... it's just convenient to get on the same flight ....

So pray, why is Delta more expensive than everyone else ... and if anyone can find the same flight for less than £380 ... I will be indebted ...

Travel into NYC and take Amtrak. It's cheaper, quicker, and more comfortable.

Delta doesn't do a direct LGW-PHL but US Airways does - if you go US Airways, you're not going to have any hassle with connections. Your friend on Delta will have the hassles because to get to PHL on DL they'll have to change. I'd guess Delta is more expensive simply because they don't have a direct flight and so there's a domestic segment to pay for too.

British Airways flies twice a day nonstop Heathrow-Philadelphia. The best fares at the moment on us are:

£306+tax return 1Oct-31Oct

or if you are flexible by a week, we have a sale for travel from 1Nov to 30Nov for:

£183+tax return.

Hope that helps!

Cheers

Yeah, my friend is connecting via CVG - I think I'm going with British Airways now anyway ... I believe they fly the 747 on this route ...

British Airways flies a 744 and 777 daily between LHR and PHL, it might get downgraded to 2 777s after the summer season though.

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

The main companies I use are;
Airline Network
Unijet
Expedia
Travel Select

Airline Network
http://www.airline-network.co.uk
Cheapest - British Airways (ex-LHR) £303 inc Tax
Aircraft B747/B777

Unijet
http://www.unijet.com
Cheapest - American Airlines (via-RDU) £272 inc Tax
Aircraft B777/ERJ-135

Expedia
http://www.expedia.co.uk
Cheapest - US Airways (Non-stop) £290 inc Tax
Aircraft A330

Travel Select
http://www.travelselect.com
Cheapest - US Airways (Non-stop) £292 inc Tax
Aircraft A330

As on most occasions Unijet are cheapest, with Expedia as usual in second place. A lot of comanies advertise cheap flights, but Expedia and Unijet are the ones that in my experience have good prices available on the dates I want to travel.
