I probably missed it in a prior topic, but can someone give me the dates of the John Travolta's B707 landings.
Certainly those in Europe. I know he will land in FCO, CDG, LHR and DUB, but does anyone knows the exact and full route planning plus hours.
Thanks

Is it also possible to buy some tickets?
For example from CDG to LHR.
Hope so.
Any info is welcome.

For security reasons QANTAS will not release a date schedule. That is understandable.
No, you cannot purchase tickets to fly on N707JT.

For security reasons no dates are released, however JT has started his trip already, so keep eyes and ears peeled for media reports. The "heads up" will be given to the media shortly before arrival.

Any details, B737-700? Which airport in Germany? I really hope STR or FRA, that would be great. Btw, do you think that Travolta seizes the occasion to make some scientology promotion at the airports, too  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

N707JT is in Sydney this weekend.
Due in Perth afternoon of Wednesday 17 July.

Copy of memo to QF employees posted on aus.aviation - not particularly friendly as you can see. No dispute with the policy but interpersonal communications is obviously not a forte of the author.

SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP TOUR - SECURITY
------------------------------------

MANY OF YOU ARE AWARE THAT THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP TOUR WILL
ARRIVE IN AUSTRALIA THIS MONTH. WHILST THE B707 AIRCRAFT IS
PAINTED IN QANTAS LIVERY - THE AIRCRAFT IS NOT QANTAS
PROPERTY. THEREFORE ACCESS TO THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE STRICTLY
CONTROLLED. A CORDON WILL BE PLACE AROUND THE AIRCRAFT AND IT
WILL BE GUARDED 24 HOURS PER DAY.

UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADVISED OF YOUR PARTICIPATION -
PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH THE AIRCRAFT WHILE IT IS PARKED ON AN
APRON. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST TOURS OF THE AIRCRAFT OR REQUEST
PHOTOGRAPH OPPORTUNITIES. THIS DIVISION WILL BE ISSUING
SPECIAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS TO THOSE WHO ARE SPECIFICALLY
INVITED TO ACCESS THE AIRCRAFT.

STAFF ARE ALSO REMINDED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE PARKED
AIRSIDE AND IN SOME CASES WITHIN THE SECURITY RESTRICTED AREA
- THEREFORE INVITING FAMILY MEMBERS OR UNAUTHORISED PERSONS
INTO THE AIRSIDE ENVIRONMENT MAY BE A BREACH OF AIR
NAVIGATION AND O H AND S REGULATIONS AS WELL AS A BREACH OF
COMPANY POLICY.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER

soory, don't have further information on it. That's just what I read this morning in the Stuttgart Zeitung.

This is officially the Spirit of Friendship Promotional Tour - designed to highlight aviation's worldwide links.

Well, as far as QANTAS is concerned there doesn't seem to be much friendship - even for their own, and promotion of dates is very much lacking.

There is no way in hell that aircraft is stage 3 compliant...

How in the world are they able to fly it in Europe.

Maybe it's exempt because it's a private plane ? Maybe they'll make an exception due to its owners celbrity status ? Big grin

N707JT has got Quiet Skies Inc. 707-100 Stage 3 hushkits, the only B707 in the world with them as far as I know. They look like the original Tracor Stage 2 hushkits.
The 707-300s have to have a much more elaborate Stage 3 hushkit setup, due to their increased TOW.

Who are the rest of his flight crew. Although I'm sure he is a good pilot, he still does not have the hours and experience that most 707 or large ATP pilots would normally have. I think of JFKjr, Thumond Munson and John Dnever and wonder if Travolta will someday make similar headlines. A vintage 707 is a hell of a lot of plane to handle.

John Travolta is unlike John Denver, and the others.... He is an aviation NUT. I am pretty sure he is a wonderful pilot, and would get on his plane anyday...

Craig Murray is one lucky dude.

Being an aviation nut does not make you a good pilot. Solid training and hours in the cockpit do. My point was that I don't see how he can fly enough hours to keep that safe "edge". I have several close friends who are ATP pilots and they all say that, even after 2 weeks of vacation, they feel a little rusty when the get back in the seat. I'm sure that under normal conditions he is fine. What happens when the not normal happens? If he were just flying a GA aircraft or a Citation, I wouldn't raise the point, but a 707 is a lot of aircraft to fly. The risk for not only his passengers but those below him is greater than if a full time ATP pilot were flying it. Is this greater risk acceptable for all involved? Is this why Quantas is being so stand-offish about the tour?

The uniform that John Travolta is wearing is the old Qantas Empire Airways (QEA) uniform. Double breasted jacket and white cap, and QEA crest on the cap and jacket.
Although the airline's aircraft started to wear the simple 'QANTAS' titles in 1952, the airline did not officially cease being QEA until 1967, and that is when this uniform was discontinued.
The B707-138B was in service with QANTAS until 1969.
