I was up in Charlotte today doing some photography at the observation park and saw a very interesting Dash-8. It was a Q200 series registration N444YV. Apparently, according to Trip.com, the plane was going to CVG and then back to CLT. It was ASH 4606. The plane's paint job was strange. It was painted all white with bright purple engines and no titles anywhere on the plane...hopefully I can get a picture of it uploaded here soon. Since when did Mesa start flying Dash-8's for USAirways? I thought they just flew RJs for them. Also, on the USAirways web site when you bring up the specifics of the flight all it states is "operated by". All other regional subsidiary flights have the name of the airline on there....ie "Operated by Piedmont"

well my guess would have to be that since i didnt know they flew 8s for US Ex ethier, would be that its a new thing, and they are transfering it over to them and thats why its painted liek that, its stuck in the middle of a paint change from mesa colors to US ex.

I saw that Dash-8 at PHX a couple weeks ago, I snapped a few pics of it, and im trying to upload them here, but my comp wont let me, oh well. I assume that the scheme is a partially painted Mesa Airlines paint scheme. From the complete Mesa Airlines schemes Ive seen, it looks somewhat like that. It would have to be America West Express operated, because no other commuter airlines operate Dash-8s into PHX, plus it was in the AWA Express parking area. Ill try to get the photo up also.

Allegheny, Piedmont and CCAir operate Dash-8's for USAir. CCair is not wholly owned...the other two are. This was definitely a Mesa operated flight. The call sign was Air Shuttle. My guess would be that Mesa is taking over a large part of the Express operations since the RJ issue is such a problem at the WO (Wholly owned) airlines.
