Hey all-
I will be traveling from Miami to Buenos Aires within the week (and I will be returning two weeks later) so I wanted to know what AA was like on their long haul flights. The plane from MIA to EZE will be a 763, and on the return flight it will be a 777 (STOKAGE!!! ) What is the food, service, PTVs, etc. like on AA, and are the seats comfy? By the way, I am flying coach, so i won't get to try out the neato first-class sleepers AA has on they triple sevens. Bummer...

To cut a long story short: you'll be fine.
Flying from FRA to LAX back and forth two times on AA, it was always good.
Although I liked the flight attendants more on Lufthansa , I'd always prefer the AA Economy class. I'd always prefer it if I had to choose between LH and AA due to the seat spacing in AA's Economy which provides noticeable more convenience. So considering it's coach, I'd say AA is comfy.
The food's alright, the drinks come frequently so you won't get thirsty (always remember to drink plenty of liquid on long distance flights ).
The IFE..... well, there are some movies, and there is "Eye on CBS NEtwork" I believe it was called. It's relooped and contains a couple of tv soaps (Ally McBEal, Everybody loves Raymond,....).
Depending on the length of the flight, you may have the time to watch the entire program. To make sure nothing goes awry and you get bored to death in case you hate 2/3 of the program, you better buy a couple of aviation magazines b/4 boarding.... I believe you can check out the entertainment program somewhere on www.aa.com .
Although I liked the 777 Airplanewise more than the 763, I found the seat-integrated IFE was not that comfortable. You stare at this tiny LCD screen which is only like 12" away from your face the whole flight. I'd prefer theoverheadscreens, but anyways. That's a matter of taste I guess.
One thing I did is I brought my Sennheiser HD25 HEadset which is similar to the ones pilots use (exept it's missing the mike) so that I did not need to wear those they pass around. I do not really like those comfortwise, and mine is a closed design so it is somewhat noise absorbing.
As a backup, you can still order plenty of that Chardonnay in the twist-Cap bottle. It's not really the best I've ever tasted, but at least it makes you dizzy and sleepy.
