Does the MD-88 have the range to fly non-stop to San Juan from Philadelphia, as well as from San Juan nonstop to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Miami?
I believe the MD-83 can but the MD-83 also has a longer range....

Yes, PHL-SJU is within the range of the MD-88. Delta once flew their MD-88's from CVG-PHX nonstop, and that's only a couple of miles shorter.

Delta still flies their MD-88s on the TUS-CVG, CVG-PHX, and DFW-SAN routes. Delta lists the range of the MD-88 at over 1700 miles, while PHL-SJU is only 1575 (PHX-CVG is 1569). The MD-88 performing the shorter Florida hops is not a problem at all, as several Delta MD-88 routes are much longer than TPA-SJUs 1237 miles.
