Parked in front of Lufthansa's Paint facility at Shannon today was a B767-300 in North American colurs. No titles or registration.

I'm trying to work out which of the 767s that have been parked around SNN recently this is.

Does anyone have any knowledge of which 767 NA are expecting?

They have purchased/leased two of them. One is an ex-Ansett 763 the other is from Air Madagascar but I'm not 100% sure. They are there to be overhauled and painted and should be here in the US fairly soon. North American was looking to expand it's flying for the US Gov't and also increase cargo space to places like Georgetown, Guyana.....

Hey,

Same here. I wasnt aware of NA purchasing the 767's. They sure would compete directly against Universal Airlines now on the JFK-GEO and JFK-POS route.

Regards,

NA does very well on the JFK-GEO route but because they operate a 757 they cannot take all of the baggage and end up paying Universal to take it for them. Now with the 767, NA can carry all of their own baggage and save a couple of extra bucks.

Also they plan on using them for their miltary charter work.

Mark...

Thanks for the specifics. Do you know who was the old owner of the other one? I thought they told me it was Air Madagascar or maybe Air Malta. I aint too sure....

Mark, thanks for that.

If anyone can tell me how to post the digital shot I took of it directly into this thread, I'll do so.
