A Alaska Airlines 737-200 from Barrow to Fairbanks made an Emergency Landing yesterday around 7:45pm due to right Engine Failure... The plane was carrying cargo along with 49 passengers and 4 crew... The plane will get a different engine and will be back in service some time this next week All the passenger were put on another plane within 6 hours of the accident.

It went back to Barrow.
There isn't a whole lot between FAI and BRW.
In fact AFAIK other then Barrow the only other place that they can go up on the slope is Deadhorse, which is 175 miles away. Everywhere else is too short, or is an old haul road support airport that has long since been abandoned.

It was a/c 743, departed and returned to BRW. Engine swap was planned for today a/c 741 was ferried ANC-BRW with the replacment. A/C 740 was ferried ANC-BRW to transport the pax from the original flight...

Of course Dahl Creek would have some issues too.
As far as I can tell Dahl Creek and Galbraith lakes are the only places between BRW and FAI that you could set a 737 down, more then once.

Good thing we made it back to BRW then Added about 6hrs to the pax trvl time, however at least they made it safe and somewhat sound...
