There was a contest held a few days ago where you had to identify 3 planes and the airport where the photo was taken, since the contest ended yesterday I thought I'd post the picture and ask you guys about this.
Here's the picture:
I spent more than an hour trying find out what the airport was and what airline the Dash 8 belonged to, but I couldn't find out.

The Dash-8 is owned by Hawkair which is a small regional carrier in British Columbia, Canada. They operate from Vancouver to Prince Rupert, Smithers, and Terrace/Kitimat. While the airport could very well be YVR, the other two planes look like Air France and Transair (?) which don't operate into YVR. I know Hawkair is receiving a second aircraft, so this is probably it on its delivery journey.

Since I had most of it correct, here's the official answer
On approach; Air France, Boeing 777-200, Based at CDG Airport, Paris, France
Taxing; Transavia, Boeing 757-200, Based at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Foreground; Hawk Air, Dash 8-100, Based at Terrace BC, Canada
Picture was taken at Terrace airport, Air France and Transavia where added later (they don't fly there).

The airport is Salzburg Austria (prettiest approach in the world, IMHO), the Dash 8 is a HawkAir aircraft on lease to an Austrian operator (Tyrolean I think). The other 2 are Transavia (Netherlands charter carrier) and Air France.

It may be a bit taboo here on this board but can you give us a hint as to the web site that had the contest?

The contest was held by IFDG (International Flightsim Design Group) and the price was a beta-test position for their B757-300 for Flight Simulator 2002.
