Jat Is Starting To Fly Again

i got confirmed yesterday that jat-yugoslav airlines is
starting it s operations on monday,21 february.
this was decided after that eu banned transport sanctions on yugoslavia.
jat is recievieng it s first 3 airbuses 319 in june this year as planned.
the other 5 aircraft will join the fleet in 2002 0r 2003

I don't think JAT ever stopped operations. I knew that with the EU sanctions against Jugoslavia they couldn't operate to the EU, but I thought they were still operating outside the EU. I don't know, but this is what I heard in Flight International I believe.

no,jat diden t stop all flights.
under sanctions jat was operating to
beijing,moscow,larnaca,skopje,dubai and abu dhabi.
the rest of the fleet was operating under name MAT(macedonian airline transport),to several european cities as athens,rome,milano,vienna,frankfurt ,zurich and couple of others.mat had conection flights from belgrade to skopje.
jat also cooperated under sanctions with montenegro airlines who had flights to most european cities.
so jat wasent standing still,
but it s nice to see the jat logo in the air again )
