Does Dickie fly or has flown on BA's Concordes? If he has, what sort of a reception would he get on a BA plane? Big grin

More often than you might think and he is treated like any other Concorde passenger.

Doubt it very much. Knowing Dickie, he wouldn't go near the things on principal they were BA operated!! Big grin

Well knowing how bitter and fierce the rivalry is between BA and VS, i thought there could be a frosty relationship between Dickie and anything to do with BA, even Concorde.

No matter how much hatred there is in his book airlines that operated from the same airport on the same routes cannot afford to be bitchy on a personal level. So I am not surprised that RB has flown Concorde. No crew would treat him badly. Firstly because it is unprofessional, secondly because nobody is that dumb, and third because they might need a job someday.

Or because Branson is probably the type of customer BA look for, a multi-billionnaire tycoon able to afford a million concorde flights.  Big grin

With BA's new res system, I can no longer look up pax lists, just the numbers carried.
But in the past, yes, the beard has flown on BA Concorde quite often in the recent past.
I understand, but cannot confirm, on an ID ticket!
He'll be treated like any other pax, maybe even better, you know how he loves to create publicity, and if he thought he could get away with claiming poor treatment, create a fuss in general, maybe he would.
(Before I get flamed, if he can imply like last year that VS are safer because they don't use twins on the N.Atlantic, then who knows what else he'd do).
But he hasn't. He'd be using Concorde to save time, so like most pax he'd be working or just enjoying the experience.
So the answer is I don't know if he has since the relaunch, if I recall the last time I know he was on a flight for certain was about two and a half years ago.
You may remember back in 1998 he made a lot of noise about VS leasing an AF Concorde for N.Atlantic flights, it was never a goer, AF would make him pay through the nose, the interior would need the Virgin touch and AF didn't really have an aircraft to spare, post accident they certainly don't now.
He even had the cheek to be interviewed with a model Concorde in VS livery on his desk, dream on Richard, that's the nearest you'll ever get to having one.

I will ask him on the first commercial flight with the 340-600. He is onboard as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if he flew on Concorde, and I would think that if he ever did he would be treated the same or even better than other passengers.

I was reading the book No Frills: The Truth Behind the Low Cost Revolution and read that on Go's Innaugral flight out of stansted Stelious Haji-Iannous and a few other of EasyJet's staff booked 10 tickets on the flight. They arrived at the gate wearing Orange Boiler suites and were personally greeted by Barabara Cassani. At the end this created a lot of publicity for GO and EasyJet, so both sides win!

Richard Branson has flown Concorde once before.

Chris Evans (ex-DJ / famous person) pleaded to Branson to get on the flight to talk about him buying Virgin Radio.

Branson flew Concorde to New York.

After, Branson said that he would rather "have a paper bag over (his) head" than fly Concorde again.

Anyone can fly, only the best Soar.

Yes he does use it/has used it, but will fly on VS wherever possible (obviously), so I'm sure he just used it for a quick business meeting or something.

Stelios also uses Virgin quite often for trips to the US, don't know if he uses the dream machine tho'.

"He even had the cheek to be interviewed with a model Concorde in VS livery on his desk, dream on Richard, that's the nearest you'll ever get to having one."
I'm sure that is only because they don't make them anymore or that there are so few of them that has stopped VS. If they were still producing them, or there were more of them around then I'm pretty certain they would feature in the VS fleet.  Smile
