Asiana Airlines - A Star Alliance Member To Be - The Airline Network For Earth - has announced a Q2 profit of US$57 992 372 / Korean Won 66.9 billion.

Revenue rose 16% in the second quarter to US$537 187 933 / KRW 619.7 billion.

Asiana also benefited from the weakening US Dollar against the South Korean Won. Cargo uplift also helped as did a sale in a subsidiary.

Therefore, for H1, Asiana has posted a profit of US$78 970 180 / KRW91.1 billion. A loss of US$135 488 904 / KRW 156.3 billion was incurred in H1FY01.

Operating profit was up from US$14 129 681 / KRW 16.3 billion to US$33 633 842 / KRW 38.8 billion

Hey,
I just finished my Korean Assignment based on Asiana, and i can only take my hat off to them. They have come such a long way in their history, and their is no doubt in my mind that they can achieve one of their objectives mentioned on their web-site which is...
To become South Korea's National Flag Carrier!
Oh and by the way...do you think this is a good slgan i made up for them??

"Asiana: Leading South Korea into the 21st Century!!"

What si their motto right now??

Cheers
Mike

Yup Hoons90, Asiana is way better! They have some fine lookin' flight attendents too. Asiana's safety record is also good. Even though I like Korean Air, I trust Asiana!

I. prefer. Korean.

That doesn't mean I dislike Asiana.

But this topic's good because Asiana has been money-losing almost whole time since launch.
