Qatar Airways Passenger Growth At 60%!

In a press conference held at Farnborough on Tuesday, Akbar Al-Baker CEO of Qatar Airways formally accepted delivery of the airlines second A330-200 A7-ACB. In the press conference Mr. Al-Baker reavealed that Qatar Airways witnessed a 60% increase in passenger numbers in Q1 2002 over the same period last year. Conservative estimates put the number of passenger carried by Qatar Airways in the 2002-2003 Financial year at just over 2,500,000 passengers an increase of 40% over the 2001-2002 financial year.

Qatar Airways broke their own record for fastest growing Full-Service airline which previously stood at 40%.

Maybe all the American business's are putting their staff on Middle eastern carriers with the thinkin that they wouldn't dare hijack their own planes ?

Emirates buying planes like no tomorrow and Quatar with 60% growth... may not be so far fetched
