I was just wondering if someone could give me an update on the constrctioni currently being done at BDL in hartford,ct. When will the new terminal be operational, and what airlines will utilize it. Is it possible any new airlines will begin servicing the city as a result? All feedback is appreciated.

The new terminal is looking sharp. The Jetways are being installed.

I boarded my first commercial flight out of Bradley on November 21, 1960. The airport was under construction then and it has been ever since.

The web site listed above wont help. It is never updated, last time was in november when I checked last week.

As for the construction, it is coming along very good. Jetways are being installed at the moment, and the International arrivals building already has a jetway connected. The interrior of the terminal is being finished. The Concourse is fully lighted, and sheetrock is alredy installed thoughout. Lights will be going up over the tarmac shortly. United Airlines will use the new concourse only for a short time begining in mid august while the space were their gates are now is regraded. United will only use 2 gates in the new terminal, and only United passerngers will be allowed there. The entire terminal itself isnt scheduled to open until Winter of 2002 or early 2003. It looks like it will be around a December openning however. American Airlines, and Delta will have 11 out of the 13 gates in the new concourse, with 2 being held for future expansion of airlines.
