I recently read that Airbus is already building the first NW A330-300. It will be a 'enhanced' version and will require additional testing prior to the NW delivery.
Does anyone know what this 'enhanced' version consist of?

NW has stated that the A333s are their transatlantic type and, at this point, do not plan to send them accross the pacific. The current order is ample to replace the DC10-30s flying transatlantic on a one-for-one basis; there may be a follow up order for the A330 to replace remaining DC10s that will be flying the Hawaii routes for the next few years.

The latest version of the A330-300 has a range of 5,600nm with 295 pax and luggage (no cargo) and 4500nm at MTOW. The A340-300 would be a good fit for NW's long and thin routes since it will have cockpit and systems commonality with the A330 and a similar engine core to the A32X aircraft they have. This will simplify maintenance greatly.
I am wondering, what is the longest NW DC-10 routes?
