Three UK Near Misses (Two Denied)

United Kingdom's CAA is denying reports that a BA 747 came 40ft within a Air Canada 747 on the runway. The BA 747 was landing.

There were 380 pax on the BA and 181 on the AC.

British Airways say that the planes were at least 2.5 miles apart

National Air Traffic Services has confirmed that two bmi British Midland - A Star Alliance Member - The Airline Network For Earth - planes came within 1.5 miles of eachother. One plane was flying LHR - BRU and the other CDG - LHR.

The incident is being blamed on an ATC person in the new Swanwick ATC centre. A total of 148 pax were on the two planes which happenned 20 miles east of LGW on Tuesday.

Both pilots took action on TCAS advise.

A Go plane had to swerve severely to avoid colliding into a private jet. The captain announced the incident and apologised to the passengers saying that the ATC made it go on a collision path.

More information tomorrow, it's in a newspaper and I can't be bothered to get it.

Near misses are becoming the norm in the UK, scary to contemplate the repurcussions if a disaster occurs. But don't believe everything u read in the media, i'm sure the aircrafts were at a safe distance from each other.
