Hopefully someone can help me out with this question..
What would be a typical day or days in the life of ,let's say, a UA 777? I know that typically when these type of planes do a Atlantic crossing (eastbound) they typically will turn around the aircraft and come right back to the US. Now do most planes after these two flights get put on a shorter run or do they just get put right back on another long international flight.
I know that when UA used to operate their ORD-HNL flight (9 hours), they would fly the plane (DC-10-30) to HNL and then it would turn around and come back to ORD the same afternoon and arrive the next day in the early AM at ORD. Then it would go out on the same morning as the first AM run to Las Vegas and then come back to ORD.
I guess what my question is, does UA fly their planes on a "program" of longhaul then shorterhaul flights?? Maybe this is obscure question but I figured this would be the only place in the world to bring it to. I appreciate the help in advance.

Well, I know that in 1997 when UA operated 747-400's on the JFK-NRT-HKG route, the flight would go as follows:
DP JFK 11:00a UA 801
AR NRT 3:50p ------
DP NRT 06:00p UA 801
AR HKG 10:30p
O/N HKG
DP HKG 11:00a
AR NRT 2:30p UA 800
DP NRT 5:35p
AR JFK 3:00p UA 800
