Tarom-cash Upfront For Two More Boeing NG's

On july 22, Tarom Romanian received seven credit bids totaling US $ 96.5 mil in conjunction with the purchase-contract of two Boeing NG 737-700 to be delivered earlier next year. This loan is to be guarantied by the Romanian Finance Ministry. Initially these two aircraft were supposed to enter Tarom's fleet in February this year but negotiations with Boeing postponed the delivery to 04/2003. Tarom still holds a contract option for another four B737-800.

Starting July 02, Tarom entered a code share agreement with Syrian Arab Airlines on flights from Bucharest to Allepo and Damascus (Syria) twice a week every Tuesday and Friday. The flight will be operated by Syrian using Airbus 320 equipment.
