Hey, that's N1011N.... it's been parked here at PDX for awhile now. Not sure if it's still around.

It's a new day. Every moment matters. Now, more than ever.

I would take it if it was offered to me.......but I would go for something with an interior that doesnt look so..........old I guess. It's decked out with the 70s wood and its way too white. I saw a much better looking 737-200 converted biz jet a while ago on ASO. This is just my thoughts. I prefer a dark leather, cherry rosewood executive kinda thing.

TWA all the way

TWA-

The one you saw on ASO a while back was Gene Phillip's 732, based at ADS just north of Dallas. It is hangared across taxiway Uniform from Monarch at ADS, and is white with maroon and black trim.

The interior is exquisite, with lots of gold plating; it was originally configured for a very well-off Arab gent, and one of the features of its IFE system is a computerized device, slaved to the gyrocompass, which allows the screen to display ( in real-time) the direction to Mecca, so that prayers can be done properly.

It was put up for sale for a while when Mr. Phillips was under the influence of an ambitious prosecutor, being prosecuted on ludicrous fraud (IIRC) charges; acquitted on all counts, the plane was immediately withdrawn from the market.

It is good fun to watch that beautiful bird take off from ADS, a lot of plane for an airport of that size. A friend and neighbor of mine served as PIC on that plane for an extended jaunt to Europe a few years back, said it was nicely-equipped and maintained as well.

I have some pictures of it, from the original ASO ad; if anyone has hosting space, I'll be glad to email them to you to share the wealth.

Brianhames-

That is, indeed, the one.

I taxi by it a couple of times a week.

I had no idea that ASO maintained inactive listings on their site and servers, and I'm none too certain that mr. Phillips would be all that amused either, since the plane's been wthdrawn from the market.

I had some of the pics saved local, but from the listing, one can readily see the opulence this plane represents. And it gets used quite a bit!

I'm bringing my camera tomorrow when I fly; if it's out, I'll snap a pic.

Update:

It was not out; but the hangar was open, and it is all masked-up for a completely new paint job. I took some pics, so if you'd like to post a throw-down email address, I'll be glad to email some nice, fresh close-ups for your viewing pleasure.

Be interesting to see whether the paint scheme is changed much; my understanding is that it will be much the same.

You're right, the second plane isn't a BBJ, but the original photo was, but it has since been removed from the ASO website.
