Regardless of the theory behind it, it just takes away from the beautiful tail work, hopefully they'll consider dropping it.

I actually think it looks really cool - it has a nice effect. I don't think it adds too much clutter (definitely no room for any other device on the tail scheme though). I for one hope they keep it.
