The flights from/to GVA it self will be test flights they are doing from time to time. I know they have done this already with the 757.

Since King Fahd is in Geneva since around 2 month most the time there are around 7 planes parked.

I have seen already:
1 747SP
1 747-300 (Kings Privat Jet)
1 757 (flying hospital)
1 MD11 (Cargo)
3 Gulfstreams (2 n/c and 1 o/c)

Other planes like the L130 in Saudi colors brought Cars and Equipments to GVA.

He is also visited regulary by his family, Saudi friends. A few of them might go to London or Paris for some shopping  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

The King's B747-300 left for a practice spin around GVA airport at 16.40 today, and returned again at 17.35 at GVA. After many weeks parked at the airport, I guess the cob webs needed to be shaken out of the systems. No to forget the pilots need to keep current as well.

A Saudia B747SP was parked here all day and left at 17.40, just as the King's B747-300 was arriving.

I won't mention the Saudia MD11 and B757 medical that are both becoming part of the permanent display here, though the B757 went for a shake-out yesterday.

A sidenote:
Having such wealth doesn´t necessarily mean the Saudi King is happy. 3 princes from his family died over the last days, one in a car crash, one got lost in the desert and was found starved to death, a third one suffered a heart attack.

It's not the cobwebs they need to shake out of the system. It's the 300 venomous snakes which reportedly escaped from some chap's suitcase when customs asked him to open it at Riyadh.

Only in Saudi...

According to NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman, King Fahd doesn't have much longer, and there is a veritable circus going on as underlings position to succeed him.

An MD-11 Cargo plane? For luggage? You've got to be kidding me.

Geeze, it's like a blast from the medival ages talking about Kings and their underlings. I thought the world had matured past that age...

Someday, we'll look back at this, laugh nervously, and then change the subject.
