From 6th to 26th of August Milan Linate (LIN) airport will be closed for maintenance working.
All flights will be diverted to Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport except the follow flights that will go to Milan Orio (BGY) airport:
BARI: 3 daily flights (1 Alitalia; 2 Volare Airlines)
BRINDISI: 1 VA
BARCELONA: 1 VA
CATANIA: 3 AZ; 3 VA
LAMEZIA TERME: 1 AZ
NAPOLI: 3 AZ; 3 VA
PALERMO: 3 AZ; 2 VA
ROMA FCO: 8 AZ
TRAPANI: 1 G7
So Milan Orio will get 64 more daily movements. In order to host 280.000 pax for August they made these working:
- 10 additional check-in desks
- 2 additional gates
- 2.500 additional car parking
A bus service every 20 minutes will link BGY to Milan central station. Journey time about 1 hour.
During August these planes will "sleep" every night in BGY:

Until few months ago it was quite sure BGY should be the new and first Ryanair Italian hub.
But in the last months due to some events (see below) Ryanair seems to wait before a final decision (the main problems is about airport fee, cause FR couldn't get the same deal they got for HHN and STN flights, in fact when they signed the first deal it was in the months after 11th Sept., but now the BGY situation is changed in positive):
-increasing of cargo activities
-new low-cost airlines (BMIbaby to EMA and Cardiff and Sterling to CPH and ARN)
-interest of Volare Airlines to start domestic flights in code-sharing with Alitalia
-increasing of charters activities, cause many carriers like more to fly to BGY in spite of MXP where it's more difficult get slots in the peak time.

I'm not very sure, but I think BGY has less fog than LIN and MXP because it's located to a higher altitude. I'm not very sure of this, if someone could check it would be great.
