White And Blue Boredom: Airlines Favorite Colours?

Today a majority of airlines outside the US is flying liveries using white and blue as their main colours.
white fuselage, blue tail. I think thats very generic, boring and the opposite of what I would want my airline to be if I would be a CEO: Stand out of the crowd.

Thank god for Northwest, United, US Air, Iberia, Asiana and Virgin Atlantic!

You might not like the blue-and-white "corporate" look but it conveys an image of reassurance and reliability. You use the word "boring"...that's not a bad thing when you're trying to attract passengers. Boring = uneventful, which is just what flyers are looking for.

What about Virgin Blue... we used to have QF and AN... all white body etc etc.
Now we know what's flying, even if it is at 8miles.
We only get them confused with Yananyi Dreaming.

Well, at least here in the USA we do have an airline with a uniquely recognizable livery:

 Big thumbs up

It's certainly way more interesting than the boring wet leaser look of many airlines.

Yes it seems to but that might be so because of BA and AF especially BA new union jack livery. I think AF could put a little curl in the tail colours.

However we have airlines that make their statement with out the use of these colours.
