How Did Iran Air Get Those A300-600s?

With all the nonsense surrounding the A330 purchase by IR, I wonder how they manage dto get the two A300-600 with GE engines in 1994 when an unfriendly goverment was in power.

Of what I know they bought them direct from Airbus brand new.

They were bought new from AI. At the time of that order, there was a slight raprochement btwn Iran & the US, and the order was approved.



Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.
