Hey,

I went spotting today and saw that DC-9 in AC's old old colours parked in front of the hangar. When are they sending her over to the Ottawa museum?

Thanks

Unless they plan to have a special ceremony should have been done long time ago, they handed over one (C-FTMC)to Stevenson Aviation/Red River College in June. Now its parked outside the campus building which is beside the Air Canada Maitenance Building.

so what you're saying is that they're giving away 2 planes and that 1 is already at the museum in Ottawa?

Crank, I took a look at the website for the museum, and they don't mention recieving a DC-9. Where did you hear that from?

Someday, we'll look back at this, laugh nervously, and then change the subject.

As a former Museum employee, I can attest that the Museum will be receiving this A/C in September or October. It is also in A/C's press relaeases:

http://micro.newswire.ca/releases/February2002/15/c2456.html/13213-0

There has been a delay from the date on the release but it is still happening. AC will be flying it in on the 3050' runway adjacent to the building.

Hey Grégoire,

If you have any info about the delivery date, could you please post here or send me an e-mail?

I wanna see this plane make it's final landing  Big thumbs up

And as I said, it must be nearing delivery, because the plane has been repainted in the old colours and is sitting on the tarmac  Big thumbs up

Thanks a bunch.

I was at the museum on Tuesday...The DC-9 is not there.. I hope that they build a new hanger very soon...The AC that are outside are looking very rough and in need of some new paint..

FTMC that Virgin747 was talking about was given to Red River College in Winnipeg, for use in their aircraft maintenance engineer training program.

As soon as I have the arrival date and details of this event I will post it on a.net. It should be pretty soon.

Cheers,
Grégoire

I spoke to the CFI at the Rockcliffe Flying Club not too long ago, he mentionned that he had been flying with some AC pilots in the clubs 172s to familiarize them with the area and runway for when the DC-9 is eventually delivered....

buhh bye
