I live in St.John's and recently went to my local flying school to find out all the information I need.
First of all, what type of Licence? Private, Commercial, Recreational?
You can start flying at 14 years of age to get you private pilot licence. But you must be minimum of 17 years old to get your private pilot licence.
For the commercial, I think you have to be 17 years old but I'm not sure.
So this summer you'll have no trouble starting flying as long as you get you medical examination done.
I'm only 15 years old and I'm hoping to start my training in Montreal this summer. I'll tell you what happens.
