I was day dreaming the other day, thinking of what I would do if I had a trillion dollars.

If you had a trillion dollars, what airlines, aircraft, would you buy to make up your perfect airline?

To give you an idea of how far a trillion dollars would go, you could buy more than 2,000 Airbus A320s with a trillion dollars.

Great idea! Well, I would purchese 747-400s, 777's (both 2 and 3 hundred), and a A320 plus five 757. My routes would be IAD-LAX (777), IAD-SFO(747),
IAD-LHR (747 or 777), SFO-JFK (757),LAX-JFK (757)
and IAD-Orlando then to MIA (A320). Of course my hub would be IAD. My airline name would be Allen International Railroad (in the sky) aka AIR. My last name is Allen. Anyway, my color scheme would look like the white Shuttle bu UA's bue the U in red/blue would be an AIR. The whole interior of the aircraft would be buisness, with the exception of only a few first class seats. The airline would actually be a cheap way for buisness men/women to travel to buisness hubs of the world. If you showed that you were going away for BUISNESS, you could get on for 30% less!

this would be my fleet.

DOMESTIC

89 737-600
250 737-700
94 737-800
190 757-200
44 767-200

INTERNATIONAL FLEET

67 767-200ER
190 767-300ER
166 767-400ER
73 777-200IGW
15 777-300
90 747-400
25 747-400LRX

MY HUBS IN THE U.S WOULD BE IN THE FOLLOWING CITIES
HOUSTON
MIAMI
CHICAGO
DENVER
NEWARK
SAN FRANSISCO

EUROPE HUBS:
LONDON HEATHROW
PARIS CDG

ASIAN HUBS:
HONG KONG
TOKYO

LATIN AMERICAN HUBS:
SAO PAULO
RIO DE JANEIRO
BUENOS AIRES

AFRICA:
JOHANNESBURG
CAIRO

THIS WOULD TRULY BE A GLOBAL AIRLINE. I WOULD HAVE MAJOR OPERATIONS OUT OF ALL OF THESE HUBS EXTENSIVELY THROUGH OUT THE CONTINENTS THEY ARE IN. I WOULD MAKE THE INTERIORS OF ALL OF MY DOMESTIC PLANES WOULD HAVE INTERIROS LIKE CONTINENENTAL, AND THE INTERNATIONAL FLEET WOULD BE LIKE AMERICANS INTERIOR. MY LIVERY WOULD LOOK LIKE CONTINENTALS(I LOVE THE GLOBE). SO BASICALY MY AIRLINES WOULD BE A MEGA INTERNATIONAL CARRIER. IT WOULD HAVE AMAZING SERVICE IN ALL CLASSES. THE SEATS WOULD HAVE AN EXTRA 5 INCHES LEG ROOM AND ANOTHER 10 DEGREES PITCH IN EACH CLASS. MY AIRLINE WOULD BE LIKE MERGEING CONTINENTAL, UNITED, AMERICAN,BRITISH AIRWAYS,AIRFRANCE, CATHAY PACIFIC,JAL, AND VARIG. BUT NONE OF THESE AIRLINES WOULD BECOME PART OF MY AIRLINE. I WOULD PURCHASE THE CONTINENTAL LOGO AND NAME. (REMEMBER I HAVE A TRILLION DOLLARS) I WOULD MAKE ALL OF MY TERMINALS STATE OF THE ART AND MY PLANES WILL HAVE AMAZING MAINTNANCE. EACH SEAT WILL HAVE AN ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM IN EACH SEAT. AND I WILL HAVE 4 MEAL OPTIONS IN ECONOMY. ALSO FOR DESSERT I WILL HAVE ICE CREAM. MY AIRLINE WILL BE AWSOME AND PRICES WILL BE COMPETITIVE. I WILL ONLY HAVE TIES WITH AMERICAN AND CONTINENTAL. WITH MY REMAINING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS I WOULD SET IT ASIDE FOR A RAINY DAY AND KEEP IT FOR IMPROVING THE AIRLINE AS IT ENCOUNTERS PROBLEMS. WHAT AN AIRLINE HUH????? IF ONLY I HAD ONE TRILLION DOLLARS. WHO KNOWS I MIGHT EVEN BUILD 5 STAR HOTELS IN MY HUB CITIES.

I'd have MD-87 and MD-88 for short haul and MD-11 for long haul. Since I'd like to maintain a very modern fleet, the MD-87 and MD-88 would probably be replaced at some stage by the A319/A320, and even A321 possibly.

I would invest in Russian manufacturers, so that they can turn on their plants working and produce some GOOD stuff up to russian standarts. We would compete with Boeings and Airbuses, particularily among Third World and developing countries, so that all THREE (Boeing, Airbus, Russians) benefit from the competiton, bringing the excellence to the customers they never had before...

OK...I would have hubs in the U.S. in the cities of Chicago, Newyork, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Boston. I would have flights from each of these hubs to fly to every city over 100,000 in population. I would fly with all Boeing aircraft. If an aircraft has 100% load factors on every flight, then I would switch to a larger plane so that there would always be room for expansion. For International flights I would use the A3XX from Los Angeles to all of the Major cities around the world within the A3XX's range. All of the seats would be First class (With the same fares as a coach class fare.) All of the seats would be next to either a window or an aisle with lots of legroom. For international flights, The seats wouls also fold back 180 Degrees to fold into a bed. Whew!
