The other question is: Would you even get a meal for a flight of the same flying time as this OS flight in the USA?

Answer to your question: Looks like some coldcut meat loaf on the upper left hand corner of the main plate. I can't make out the red stuff which looks like salad?

Why didn't you ask the crew?

That red stuff, any chance it is some kind of desert. Perhaps a rasberry tart?

Ok, upper left is Trinkwasser = Drinking Water - that was an easy one Big grin
The red stuff could be Rote Gruetze, the meat looks like Suelze or maybe Mortadella. About the brown stuff I have no idea. (Well, to be honest, I have an idea, but I´m not gonna say it  Laugh out loud )

Yeah, the brown stuff looks like slices of smoked ham, with two olives and some butter and a small lettuce leaf.

Looks fine to me.... if you get a piece of bread with it and a nice glass of wine.
All free on OS - (like mentioned above, try to get that in the US...)

The red stuff seems to be a raspberry cake with jelly,
on the right side i would say it´s a beef or pork pâté with pistachios, butter, olives and smoked north tyrolean bacon.

Meal looks pretty good. What route were you flying? I flew IAD-VIE-IAD in June and the food was excellent. The dinner had two choices:Chicken with veggies or Swordfish with rice pilaf. I chose the latter and boy was in good. Also it came with rolls, caesar salad, and cheesecake for dessert.

The original text under that photo:

"A view of a tray of loathsome airline food. The picture was difficult to take since my stomach seethed in disgust and it was hard to point the camera."

According to Airlinemeals.net, the flight was from Chicago to Vienna, so, in answer to your question, I would think so...
