Can anyone please give me as much info as possible regarding Delta 727's? I'd like to catch one last ride in one of those before they are gone. I would be curious to know on what routes they are still flown and more specifically until when exaclty. The last one is expected to leave the fleet in 2003, I would say summer 2003 at the latest. I checked on Delta's website, the fleet updated on June 30th 2002 shows 34 B727 aircraft left.
I knew that the JFK-DFW-JFK flight was still a 727, according to www.delta.com that flight is a 727 until Sept 30th. As of Oct 1st, the aircraft is a 737-800 on that flight. That probably means, although I may be wrong, that Delta pulls its last 727 out of DFW on Sept 30th. I don't know if there are still any of them in SLC but I do know that the final 727 flight will arrive in ATL. I would like to know where that flight will come from and when. Any info about Delta 727's will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Lately Delta just brought back its 727s to DTW I believe between DTW and ATL. I have seen one arrive a little after 10am and another one comes in around 7pm at DTW.

DL still flies 727s from ATL to:

ABQ
BHM
BUF
ORD
CVG
DFW
ELP
GSO
IAH
JAN
SDF
MEM
BNA
LGA (I think the last flight has ended however to LGA)
ORF
PHL
RDU
RIC
ROC
SAT
SYR
TUS
TUL
DCA

So still a lot of 727s from ATL!

Out of CVG there are only a few 727 routes left:

ATL
MIA
TPA

Here's the link to DL's pdf flight schedule....it lists every flight DL has. To find 727's....just look at the schedules out of DL's hubs. Unfortunately, this schedule is based on June 1, 2002, so it may be slightly out of date. A new one will come out for September 1.

https://www.delta.com/pdfs/flight_schedules.pdf

I guess your best bet would be to fly to ATL and then catch a 727 there.....since that is the hub DL is isolating them to.

DL 727s have been off & on into CMH.

I know the CMH-ATL 727 (DL 636) route was changed back to a 757, but what about DL 1619 to CVG, which leaves at 10:40am? It's still shown on Delta.com as a 727. Has that been changed too? I hope not!

BOS has a 7pm departure to ATL with the 727. The other day, one 727 was doing a BOS-MCO (Orlando), presumably an aircraft substitution.

But DL still has a fair number of 727s in service...but soon on their way out. Get your ride and/or photos while you can!

DL's 727s fly into RDU from CVG, as well as the aforementioned ATL.

Yes, the DL 727 to LGA from ATL has been discontinued and switched to a 757.

Hey,Delta 1203 just roared over my house from r/w4 ! I love it,you can even hear them in the basement with the widows closed. Actually, that's the only plane DL puts into ROC.I was lucky to get switched to one 2 weeks ago after being switched from UA due to weather in IAD. What a ride! I even got to fly the connecting flight to GSO in the same plane! N519DL (mid-colors)

If worse comes to worse. . .I know NWA still flies at least a couple of 727s to DIA daily. I think they originate in both MSP and DTW.

Hope that helps.

As for Delta 727s, I'm almost positive I saw one a couple weeks ago flying from Denver to SLC. I don't think anyone has mentioned Denver above, so that is a possibility.

6 of 8 daily DL ATL-MEM flights are with the 722.

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.

Dont worry, Northwest wont retire their 727's until 2090 so you have plenty of time  Smile
