Hello all!
Just wanted to let you all know that Air Canada is flying a daily non-stop flight from YVR - ANC - YVR on the A320.
But, this is only seasonal, will be disconntinued on 9/16.

Perhaps this rather naive of me to say so, but one would think that AC service from YVR to ANC would have been implemented long ago. Or did Alaska Airlines have full rights to that route?
Speaking of YVR, has the refurbishing to the domestic terminal (arrivals and departures areas) been completed?

I haven't been to the domestic terminal in two months, but at that time, Westjet was just about to move to their new check-in desks along with Air Transat, and JetsGo. Right now they're probably working on refurbishing Westjet's old check-in desks. Canadi>nBoy, C3 used to operate the route, but it does amaze me somewhat that Alaska nor Air Canada don't fly the route all year. And Chrisa330 thanks for telling me about the 320 flying the route all the time.

Spyderz, thanks for the info. C3 flew YVR-ANC? I never knew that, and here I work in corporate group meeting/incentive travel planning! LOL. Well, it just goes ta show ya, you learn something new every day. Last time I was in YVR last year, the domestics terminal was a shambles, due to all the refurbishing work. It did appear that it will be quite nice. God only knows the old look was a tad depressing.
P.S: If you ever get a chance to do so, stay at the Fairmont YVR Airport
hotel, in a room facing out to the aircraft tarmac. I stayed in one of these rooms last year, and man, let me tell ya, it was AWESOME! Beautiful room,
INCREDIBLE view, as my room was only 4 floors above the departures terminal.
At sunset, with a glass of wine, watching the taxiing aircraft and at the gates,
ahhhhh, very very nice. Plus, YVR WAS a major Canadi>n city, so no more
need be said. God, I still think the demise of CP is so sad.

I want to second what Canadi>nBoy said about the YVR Fairmont hotel. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at, airport or otherwise. My room looked down on the transborder gate area. Any idea what room number(s) have the best views of the ramp/taxiways/runways?
