Is that a name under the flightdeck windows? If so, anybody got any idea what it is?

The name under the flight deck window on this A330-200 (which is VH-EBA), is 'Cradle Mountain'.
It is a beautiful landmark in the Australian island state of Tasmania.

It looks short, like an A300 with wingtips. Which routes will the A330 operate?

Makes me remember an a/c mechanic from Australia, some three years ago, who told me that QF would never buy a damn Airbus and that he was very happy that no Aussie airline (at that time) was flying these plastic planes...

Things have changed in the last years (for good)!  Wink/being sarcastic

EC-121K, is there a listing published of the names the A330s will carry? I had hoped they would carry the A300s names (James Cook etc.).

3 years ago, Ansett was around flying these "plastic" planes, the A320 Skystar.

I'm not quite sure what this mechanic was going on about - it wasn't hard to find an A320 somewhere in the country.

Cheers,

SQ772 is right, when I first saw the picture and overlooked the winglets, I thought it was an old picture of an ex Australian/TAA A-300, it looks so short, maybe it's either the angle or the colourscheme. Anyone else that planes can appear different in certain schemes or angles?

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

The angle of the photo makes the usually large 332 tail appear not so large here.

The 332 definitely has shades of the A300 though.

Qantas should buy metal planes not plastic, plastic planes always fall apart!

Looks awesome, although due to the time of day and quality of the photo and location it doesn't look outstanding. Trust me when you see it rotating at SYD at sunset, it'll look better  Big grin.

At the moment all Qantas aircraft (except the 737-800s) have written on them THE SPIRIT OF AUSTRALIA why do the 737-800s and A330s only have SPIRIT OF AUSTRALIA and will the rest of the fleet be changed to read SPIRIT OF AUSTRALIA?

By the way does anyone know what seating the A330s will have, will it be the same seats as the QF763s or the new seats found on the refitted 744s.

Great, how innovative & spectacular.

Which great artist came up with this design ?

 Big grin

I'm I mistaken or is it just a white tube with the usual QF tail ...

A fine looking aircraft!!!!!!!

Work Hard But Play Harder
25 Boeing777/747 : Cool man looks very nice, but part of the engine is missing
26 KrisworldB777 : Looks bloody ordinary I'm afraid to say. I hate the Airbus nose from that angle. Diabolical! Qantas needs to do an Emirates: put huge big titles in a
27 Arsenal@LHR : Still looks really nice and smart, but the quality of the picture doesn't do it any justice. But in real life it will look awesome like every A330 doe
28 Ripcordd : They need to have a nice chrome fuelasge with an orange kangaroo..
29 Post contains images SAS_A330-300 : Any A330 looks awesome in my eyes!!! Simon
30 Singapore_Air : It looks quite ordinary for some reasons. I prefer it with a 777. HKGSpotter: People are entitled to their opinion. I prefer the 777 over the A330 in
31 Post contains links and images UA744Flagship : Notice that "Spirit of Australia" is written in a serifed font, with lower case letters and in grey, whereas on other aircraft, such as the 747 longre
32 BBD : Further to AJ's query and EC-121K's response, the first four aircraft, as far as I am aware, are named: EBA - Cradle Mountain EBB - Freycinet Peninsul
33 QANTAS747-438 : A QFA330???? Wow... I think that is one nasty looking plane. The plane looks like it's "hunched over." I'm just glad we wont be seeing that at LAX!
34 The Coachman : I think where the 'shortness' perception comes from is the fact that the red paint continues in a straight line from the bottom of the tail, and hence
35 AJ : Thanks BBD. I think the 777 would look even whiter with it's smaller fin!
36 BA : Simply beautiful. If you ask me, it's one of the best liveries on the A330. Can't wait to see some more photos. Regards
37 Blink182 : It looks very average. Not great, but not bad either. The livery and the A330 seem to fit well. blink
38 Bigo747 : The font for "Spirit of Australia" is different. And it's not Italics.
39 Post contains images Je89_w : It's cool! Looks good on the A330. Je89
40 Speedbird244 : Gorgeous! I believe its a perfect match. Much better than the TAM white-red combination, for example. Long live the flying Kangaroo!
