I would like to photoggaph some TWA L1011s, and have heard there are some stored in the desert still in TWA markings.

Does anyone have any details on where they are stored and if they are accessible for photos?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

When I was at Kingman,AZ in Sep '01 there were like 4 there, still said 'TWA' on them. I walked right up to one on a remote area of the ramp, the fence was a joke, knee high and falling down. You can check out my pics at

I was in Kingman a couple of weeks ago. There are three (that I saw) L1011s there, two of which you can get very close to. I would recommend early morning or late afternoon to view them because of the sun angles, morning being much cooler temp.-wise.

Hey,Royal-I just sent you an e-mail about your LAS pics! Is that L1011 (N31036) that is all by itself still intact ? I loved going around IGM! Are those United Feeder BAe ATP's still there ? How about those Iberia 727's ? Looking forward to going there with (hopefully) my Nikon Coolpix 5000 in October.
You can see my IGM pics at www.planepictures.net , search under 'kerhaert'

There are lots of ATP's, a few DHL 727s, and a few Emery DC8s. The rental car said it was 120 when we were there...bring lots of water!
