CX used the B773 when flying Istanbul - Hong Kong.
There's not a high demand for this route IMO, but great to see another airline flying into Hong Kong as this has been rumored for quite sometime (Along with Lauda and SAS, now TK is starting services to HKG).

Well they have a very nice new airport, but to say it's the best. No way.
But according to our voting, which still goes on till the end of november, the are well leading. Hmmm an article must have been published in Turkey about us. But they use the trip from IST-BKK-HGK. I have flown them a lot and they have a lot of pax in BKK. Normally it flies IST-BKK-SIN. Is this going to change and are they not going to fly to SIN anymore. The pax from SIN was only a few, so they might wanna try HGK.

Turkish is pulling out of Kuala Lumpur (yes, another airline!) at the end of October. Currently the route is IST-BKK-KUL. It seems Hong Kong is just replacing Kuala Lumpur.

I think SAS have been wanting to return to KHG for a while, they just didn't have the range for it (after all, it wasn't economic for the 763ER to have a fuel stop on the way back).
Right now it's all about cutbacks, however, it had been rumored in the various biz papers I read, that SAS wants to go on the offensive after winter season, so they just might appear in CLK.
Although, I'd love to see a SAS A340 do the checkerboard turn at Kai Tak, just once!

I am assuming that Turkish will codeshare its flights to Hong Kong with CX and may be some other airlines.
Istanbul has always tried to be the hub for the east and the west and i think it deserves such reputation since it is the best airport in the region.
