Hi all,

I will be flying on Swiss International Airlines Business Class on Thursday from Singapore to Bangkok. It is a 2 hour flight. So what can I expect in terms of food? Its an MD11 so how is the cabin ambience? I tried searching for a photo in the database but came up with nothing.

Any comments would be very much appreciated.

Cheers
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I thought the cabin is the same as Swissair?

Swissair was cool! I too, flew from SIN to BKK (and on to ZRH) in 1999. I pretty much forgot about the flight though.  Sad

Jerrold

Ryan, have I met you at SIN this summer?  Big grin

Of course we met, Jerrold! I even met your mum and grandpa as well. I am the one who drove that blue Rover.

Well, whether its the same or not, I don't know. Just need to hear some comments regarding this airline. It has been a while since I strayed from Malaysia Airlines so I have to mentally prepare myself, so to speak...  Smile

Especially the food, I am so looking forward to it. I wonder if Swiss has Biz Class lounge facilities in Singapore? Anyone knows? Their website isn't exactly very informative.

I don't know much, but I know that Swiss has introduced their own cabins and are not using Swissair's old cabins. However, at the time you are traveling, I wouldn't be surprised if the airplane has Swissair interiors.

The planes have a swissair interior. Which means seat wise that it is a good (nothing special) seat. As for food, in Biz I would expect some sort of small meal but I could be wrong.

Hello,

Food wise you can expect a quick meal (dinner all served on one tray) with a choice of 2 different main courses. Not too bad all.

On the MD-11 in Business I would avoid row 14 (last row).

Have a nice flight.

Jeremiah

Really?? I was going to specifically ask for the last row like I normally do so that I can take photos in flight. What is it about row 14? Can anyone supply me with a seat map of the Swiss MD11?

Patrick,

thanks for the map. Somehow, 49 seats in Business Class does not seem that exclusive to me. Hehehe... I hope it would be a light load!

Still, what is wrong with row 14? I see that the window view looks out slightly on to the wing.

I had a lonnnnnngg flight on Swiss Business class just two days ago.I flew from Karachi to Zurich and then Boston. Both flights were operated by the A332.I shall be posting my trip report very soon so do watch out for that. But in that 2 hour flight you should expect a salad and a light meal. They will most likely give out menus. They service is done very nicely. They lay down the table cloth and everything...i dont drink but they did seem to have a quite a list of wines. The seats are decent, but i think in this day in age a premier airline like LX should have a better business product. There is plenty of room but the part of the seat that rises for the legs and feet isnt very comfortable.

Patrick, thanks for the map.

You are welcome, Ryan. You should ask Mike (username=swiss-airplane, he is also quite often in the trip report forum) about the LX Business Class in the M11, I do not exactly but I guess that he has flown twice in it.

Patrick
