Are the prices for the tickets (generally) the same as they would normally be or cheaper for September 11th?

National has a deal that streches its entire route network from $2 (yes two) r/t. Inother words SFO-JFK is 2 dollars on the 11th of september.
These fares were gone very quickly.

and why shouldn't prices be the same?
It's a day like any other one... Some airlines are flying at reduced capacity because sales are lower on the day but that too is normal.

Airlines lowering prices for that day only might be seen by some as a cheap marketting trick. Someone might take offense and sue that airline for the severe psychological damage they obtained from it...

I got a $29.00 ticket on Airtran from GPT-ATL and another $29.00 ticket on ATL-GPT. Now the fare is back to $89.00
