Can anyone tell me what the meaning of different aircraft series suffixes are? Ex: 737-700 listed as 737-7G4 (only an example) Are these customer codes, and if so, is there a list somewhere?

Thanks for any help,

steve

With Boeing, the G4, is the customer code, as the plane is made to the airline's spec differences...

36 = BA, 38 = QF, U3 = GA, 12 = SQ ????

These are available in Boeing's website somewhere...

Airbus' last 2 numbers = engine type and engine subtype.
