Since 1996, I have seen all kinds of aircraft from the Toronto Island
Airshow fly over the city during the Labor Day weekend, but this year,
I haven't seen a single one. Have they decided to prohibit flying all
over the city because of security reasons? I heard that air shows are
being cancelled because insurance went up after September 11.

Not true.
Numerous aircraft in the airshow flew over the city before, during & after their aerial routines. It was just a lighter airshow this year, or at least seemed to be.
Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.

The CNE airshow has been getting lighter and lighter every year. It was refreshing to see the Red Arrows, but otherwise, nothing new and lots of old favourites not there anymore. I stayed at Pearson watching them take off and land, and that was better, in my opinion.
