Oh well!! What is happended as for discontinued by the flight to the cities been cut again?  Sad And I probably sure that is one as for new route from DCA-BDA flight as for itself by couple months ago as for US Airways. Do you guys don't know about this one. I do know hear about read with the news by press releases as for the severals month ago. So well, if you either way any have a questions and please emailed to me. Thanks!!

It looks like Baltimore (BWI) is not a hub anymore. I think also that US Airways will totally eliminate transatlantic flights and become a domestic airline only, with major hubs in Philadelphia (PHL), Pittsburgh (PIT) and Charlotte (CLT), and NY La Guardia (LGA) as a mini hub.

BWI met its demise as a hub almost a year ago when Metrojet was folded; US Airways agreed to give up control over most of its gates in BWI's D Pier in February. The only mainline flights which will remain are to the hubs, and US still holds a monopoly on the remaining turboprop routes as well.

The BWI-SFO and BWI-LAX routes are probably casualties of Southwest's new BWI-LAX and BWI-OAK routes. UA also flies the routes, and now with WN in the mix, there probably isn't room for a second Cartel carrier anymore. US isn't in any kind of position to fight for that one.

BWI-ROC is a casualty of AirTran's entry into that route. US announced the cancellation of that route a month ago. AirTran is adding a third daily on Oct. 8.

Delta777 is right; most of the cancellations will be from small cities to hubs. Aviation Daily said today that Pittsburgh is expected to absorb the bulk of 200 flights to be cut by the end of the year. No surprise there; O & D (and thus probably the yields) are much better at PHL.

I dont see any indication that US wants to cut its transatlantic service. The only European route cancelled is PIT-CDG, which was previously announced as a seasonal route which will return in the spring.

yeah, phl remains the main transatlantic gateway with 8 daily flts to Europe, and it does not look like usairways has any plans of dismantling it.

According to the current UA online timetable, Baltimore passengers won't even need to drive to IAD. UA currently operates BWI-LAX and BWI-SFO nonstops, and the timetable indicates that they'll continue past 10/31. I didn't know that the US flights had been seasonal. Still, you're right--Baltimore folks will need to fly a gray or canyon blue plane nonstop to the West Coast from now on, not a navy blue one.
