The reason for the freighter flying around with a polished body for the last 6 years or so is to test how the metal can be kept looking good. Not to mention the huge costs saved in paint and the removal of paint.
Lets also remember how many Lbs of paint a 747 needs !!

It wouldnt have paint, because they developed a way to get around the need for paint for corrosion protection didnt they?
a special polish perhaps?!
im interested to see what goes on regardless, cos it might be something to really look forward to seeing in the skies, other than just another toothpaste tube!

I'm hoping for a bare metal scheme as the last thing I want is a white aircraft. As it is, JAL's livery is terrible, especially on a 744. I used to see them when they flew to my city, and those were the ugliest 747s I had ever seen.
