Air Lib Express – Expansion

Hello,

Air Lib Express will launch several news routes from the 30th of October. These will be daily flights to Pisa, Milan, Venice, and Rome. Routes to Germany and Spain along with more domestic flights will begin in Spring 2003.

Germany, Italy and Spain are the only three markets they have considered so far. But Air Lib Express is doing well, and the airline's CEO Jean-Charles Corbet wants to separate the Express and long-haul operations so that investors can put their money in the part of the airline they want to. So they're likely going to expand Air Lib Express on the rest of their European network, and start other routes.

I can only reply to your second question: Slots are not an issue... There are plenty of unused slots at Orly.

Airl Lib is becoming an "all Airbus" company. They will get A 320 for Air Lib express.

Thanks for your interest 717fan!

I hope to release a special series of article dedicated to the French airlines next week, including one covering Air Lib Express, which -- I hope -- should shed more light on their business model and the challenges that they are facing, especially with their aging MD-83 fleet.
