There are rumours that EK considers the A330's too small and that the airline is in talks with Boeing for a B777-300 / A330 trade in.
Can anybody, especially Emirates777, confirm this please?

I haven't heard anything to the tune of the A330 being too small. Rather Emirates mgt. have commented that they want to increase their average aircraft size and this is likely to happen as more 777s enter the fleet, increasing the presence of this type in the overall mix. I know that Emirates is likely to trade in the bulk of its existing 777 fleet as part of an upcoming order which will feature upto 50x 777s (-200ERs, -300s and -300ERs all of which are likely to be GE powered).

Hmmmmmmmmmm that's interesting, a shift from Rolls Royce to GE's. Is this anything to do with the number of incidents that have occurred, relating to RR shutdowns etc (on the 777)? Or is it based on performance/financial figures? The first 777 I saw at Heathrow was a an EK 777-200, I was on the apron when it crusied past for a 27R departure and all I can remember thinking was, those RR's look so classy in the EK livery Don't worry I have a thing for RR engines!
Twins, twins, everywhere.... but where are the three holers?

emirates777,
not all EK A330's are equipped with business or first class. there are some planes that has
1 : First & Economy, and 2+2+2
2: Business- Economy. 2+4+2
talking about the A330, now for three months i have been only working on the A330-200's, 777-200's and the 777-300's

Fly_Emirates,
Yes i am aware of the two versions of the A330 and B777s. The high densities have J&Y class and the low densities have FJY class. However the seating config remains the same. From my understanding, it is only on the Saudi routes where they sell J as F. Even though the seat maps show the middle seat as non-saleable they seem to stil sell it. Eg. i have flown on numerous occassions JED-DXB and all the seats in "F" have been sold.
Looks like A6-EKL is still going to be around - i noticed its been doing some of the Gulf runs as well as PEW. From end of October it will operate the additional 5x weeklies into MUC. Have you heard when it will leave the fleet? I guess it is very much contingent on when PEW apt upgrades its facilities to handle the A330.

Why is Peshawar Airport incapable of handling an Airbus 330?
Is the runway too short? or the apron too small? They regularly handle PIA's A300s, and an A330-200 is not that much bigger.

Emirates777...are the J class seats that are sold as F on the Saudi routes....the fare is that of First class or Business class?? I know alot of the routes flown by SV have only First and Economy which is really uncommom these days since an airline which has 2 class confirguration has Business and Economy....those who have a First class also have a Business class..but i cant think of many with only a First class and Business class.
