Hello,

does anyone know the registration of the B747-200 "Bremen" that LH had in service in 1995 ? I couldn't find a pic or anything more on this here.

Thanks,
B737-700

Hi.

It was D-ABYO, which is still flying with Lufthansa Cargo (it lost the name when converted.)

Charles is correct. D-ABYO is flying for LH Cargo now and its new name is America. Delivery to LH was at November, 11 1978.

I'm sorry, but D-ABYO "America" was delivered as a freighter. D-ABYQ is the aircraft we're talking about.

Converted?

D-ABYO 747-230F(SCD) c/n 21592 was, AFAIK built as a freighter!
When should it have been converted?

Btw, D-ABYO's name was America.

D-ABYQ 747-230B c/n 21591 was named Bremen.

I believe Ndebele, here is the update: D-ABYQ has no name and it is listed as a Boeing 747-200B, delivery to LH was on December, 13 1987 but I think that the plane left the fleet (correct me if I am wrong).

Here's a pic of D-ABYQ:

I know, you can't read the name of the aircraft on that pic. But if you compare the "coat of arms" (Wappen) on D-ABYQ with the Bremer Stadtwappen:

Sabena332, with your permission, here is the correction:

D-ABYQ was delivered december 31, 1978, and has reportedly been scrapped recently.

Oh sorry, I made again a mistake but you too or even LH, according to the Lufthansa Zahlen-Daten-Fakten brochure was D-ABYQ delivered on December 13, 1978.

Ljungdahl, here is the correction:

D-ABYQ was delivered december 13, 1978.

Btw, it was named "Bremen" on 21st June 1980, just in case that somebody might be interested.

Doesn't really matter to me when the aircraft was being delivered. I was just curious as I have been on this particular aircraft once and wondered what the registration was when I updated my "Flying list" this past weekend.

Cheers,

Towards the end, -YQ didn't carry a name anymore, probably since 1997, when the current "Bremen", 747-430 D-ABVP, was delivered.
