JetBlue's Next City?

Is JetBlue going to invest in any new cities any time soon or are they just going to increase frequencies in the ones they have now? i dont have a clue what the next city would be any insight??

JetBlue has hinted that there will not be another new city in a long time. What you will see is additional routes between existing cities and more frequency.

So you can debate about that. I'd say FLL-LGB is on the pipeline.

I heard that an additional flight from JFK to DEN, SEA, and SLC is in the pipeline aswell. And we may see some additional LGB cities such as DEN and SEA.

jetBlue will not fly to PHX from LGB and most likely not to DFW either. That I know. All I can say is that LGB-FLL is in the pipeline.

I think right now they are just focused on protected their slots at both LGB and JFK. I am not sure if they have enough planes to cover all of those slots so they are trying to take care of that little problem as fast as possible.
LAS was only added as a way to eat up slots at LGB with the quick 300 mile hop across the state line.

I did heard about with FLL expansion as for next weeks by Sept 24, 2002 for the vote and if they are made decision as for the airport expansion for next week of September 24, 2002 and see if they are made approvals of Broward County boards and FAA too. I did receive with emailed from Steve Belleme as for Public Information at my FLL airport were always write emailed to me at my home. So anyway, I'd hope that will be great to hear as for the vote by new runway expansion soon. Well, goodnight!!

That's about how I see it. AA challenged them on the LGB slots, and now JetBlue has to hurry to fill them, or lose them. LGB is going to absorb all their new aircraft for at least a several months, most likely.

ORD or BOS would be great additions, but from the way Dave Barger's been talking, B6 doesn't seem to be in a mood to pick any more fights with the Cartel right now. (I've heard nothing about GYY for awhile, but have heard rumors here about ORD) They're doing great with what they have, and want to get LGB taken care of before taking any other large steps.

Actually, jetBlue will only take 23 slots, not the 27 as originally planned so AA gets their 4 slots. Alaska is out so that is why Horizon is flying to LGB instead, they are going to use 4 commuter slots. So now, unless you operate commuter aircraft, no airline can come and apply for slots at LGB.

Why not ORD for Jetblue? The flying public deserves to have the best service as well as the best price. If there wasn't competition UAL and AMR would charge whatever they want from ORD. Perhaps they already have charged the people of the Chicago area as much as they can. If you want to pay higher prices go right ahead but I bet the rest of the public would like a break on high ticket prices.

yes, i agree ALB-FLL would be much more likely than ALB-MCO.

JetBlue would probably get beat at ORD, or at least on the JFK-ORD, and maybe the LGB-ORD routes, with many AA flts between JFK-ORD and LAX-ORD as well as many UA flts between LAX-ORD, i dont think ORD would fit in real well with them. i'm sure they would rather find a slightly smaller midwest city to fly to LGB and JFK from and still do fairly well

Scotty's right, ORD-JFK could be a gold mine. 2 of the busiest airports in the US with less service between them than MSN-MKE (less than 100 miles!)
