Singapore Airlines has said that it will add flights between Australia and New Zealand to cope with the expected rise in Christmas demand.

One extra flight per week to Sydney and Melbourne from November 22 2002 to January 11 2003, and from October 5 2002 to January 12 2003 respectively.

Two more weekly flights will be added to the Christchurch route from November 20 2002 to January 12 2003.

Two extra flights per week to Brisbane will be added from October 27 2002.

Hanoi, Vietnam would have services increased to five times per week starting on December 1 2002.

Colombo, Sri Lanka would have the 777-200 from October 27 2002.

What did SIA use on the Colombo flights so far, didn't they fly the 772 already earlier into CMB?

They operate a mix of A310-300 and Boeing 777-200 aircraft to CMB. They might have downgraded it however, and are upgrading it again now. I remember being in an A310 to CMB back in 1994.

One reason they downgraded the B772 to the A310 was because of the attacks at Colombo International Airport last year, before the attack the B772s were mainly operating the route but then SQ changed to the A310s, and just like 9V-SVA said, it's a mix of A313 and B772 nowerdays.

Best Regards

As far as I know SQ operated mostly 772 into CMB iso the 313. I nearly have never seen a SQ A313 operating SIN-CMB ...
